Wayahead Driver Services.

From 1999 all businesses have corporate responsibility under health and safety legislation* to ensure that all drivers are fit for purpose and are assessed as to their suitability to do so. Failure to comply can result, in extreme circumstances to imprisonment, or very heavy fines. We can provide each driver with a written report, and further training if necessary, and provide a certificate when a low risk standard is achieved. We cover cars, vans up to 7.5 tonnes, and mini-busses up to 16 seats.

We also offer courses in fuel efficient driving. This can make a huge saving on already very high fuel costs, savings of 10% are possible, typically savings of 8% are regularly achieved. This has the effect of less wear and tear on the vehicle reducing down time in repairs and servicing costs and reducing the likelihood of accidents, and all the associated costs that ensue from that. It can help reduce stress levels while driving, and increase professionalism and give driver satisfaction.

* The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 requires employers to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of all employees while at work. They also have a responsibility to ensure that others are not put at risk by work-related driving activities. (Self-employed people have a similar responsibility to that of employers.)

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, employers have a responsibility to manage health and safety effectively. You need to carry out an assessment of the risks to the health and safety of your employees, while they are at work, and to other people who may be affected by their work activities. The Regulations require you to periodically review your risk assessment so that it remains appropriate.
